Our Mission: 

We believe that music enriches the lives of people of all ages. Through our diverse music programming, accessible venues and no cost concerts, we provide the citizens of Blue Ash, Montgomery and surrounding communities with an enjoyable, affordable quality music experience for audiences of all ages. 

Mimi Sinclair, violinist, recently retired from professional playing after a long career. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance. She played with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for ten years, then was Concertmaster of both the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra and Middletown Symphony Orchestra. Most recently she played in the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra violin section for many years. Mimi is also a Board-Certified Music Therapist and had a successful private practice working with children and adults with disabilities. In 2015, she completed her Masters in Special Education at Xavier University and in 2023 ended her career teaching music for Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services at Margaret B. Rost School. Mimi joined the BAMSO Board of Directors in 2021 and was elected Board President in 2024.

Michael Chertock began conducting in 1999 when he stepped in for Maestro Carmon De Leone in performances of Cincinnati Ballet’s The Nutcracker. In 2002, he became the conductor of the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and frequently composes and arranges music for the orchestra’s concerts.

Mr. Chertock is the principal keyboardist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and has fashioned a successful career as a piano soloist, collaborating with conductors such as Keith Lockhart, Jack Everly, Robert Bernhardt, John Morris Russell, Thomas Wilkins, Carmon DeLeone, Andrew Linton, and the late Erich Kunzel. His many orchestral appearances include solo performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, l’Orchestre Symphonique du Montreal, the Toronto Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, the Utah Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, the Boston Pops, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Dayton Philharmonic.

In 2004, Chertock joined the faculty of the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where he is currently chair of the Piano Department.

Julie Collinsworth brings deep experience in both nonprofit and for-profit environments, guiding organizations with clarity, creativity, and strategic focus. An MBA with a strong track record of energizing leadership teams and Boards, Julie brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to governance and operations. Her work is grounded in a belief that strong organizations are built by listening closely to the communities they serve. This commitment to community voice guides her professional life and her service.

Julie’s love of music runs deep. Growing up surrounded by professional musicians shaped her lifelong appreciation for the arts and their power to connect people across generations and backgrounds. As Business Manager for the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra (BAMSO), she is honored to support an organization that brings high-quality music to the community while stewarding its mission, operations, and long-term sustainability.

Laura Proffit has been an active performer and teacher since moving to Cincinnati in 1990. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Northern Illinois University, where she studied with members of the Vermeer String Quartet. She currently performs with the
Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony, Springfield Symphony and free lances throughout the Cincinnati area. Laura is the concertmaster of the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony where she has been performing since 1992 and is the Managing Director of School House Symphony. She
is the founding member and first violinist of the Hawthorne String Quartet which performs throughout the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. She maintains a private teaching studio in West Chester.

Glenn Proffit, bass trombonist and librarian of the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony, is also the bass trombonist for the West Virginia Symphony and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Glenn received his Bachelor of Music from Northern
Illinois University, and his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He has performed with many area music ensembles as well as the
Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the North Carolina Symphony. Glenn is also a member of
School House Symphony which performs over 250 educational concerts throughout the greater Cincinnati area annually. Glenn maintains a private teaching studio in his home in
West Chester, teaching trombone, tuba, and euphonium/baritone.
